Thyroid Optimization: Beyond Basic TSH Testing

Similarly, those already on thyroid medication who don't feel optimally well may have conversion issues or incorrect dosing that only comprehensive testing can identify.

Women experiencing infertility, recurrent miscarriage, or significant perimenopause symptoms also benefit from comprehensive thyroid evaluation, as thyroid function intimately affects reproductive health.

Additionally, patients with chronic stress, inflammatory conditions, or metabolic syndrome often develop complex thyroid dysfunction that basic testing misses. The stress hormone cortisol, for instance, can significantly impact thyroid hormone conversion and cellular uptake without affecting TSH levels.
